This blog is an outcome of last evening's Listening Tour in Ogden. The dialogue produced new friends, local work and helped to crystallize what roles we each can play in making our country better one community at a time. This provides a place for us to connect until the Utah page of OFA is viable.
So, a little introduction. I'm Donna Hunter and have been a Utah resident for 10 years and am originally from New Jersey. I was a volunteer for candidate Obama's presedential campaign. Like many, it was my first time as a political 'activist'. What were some of my reasons for getting involved? It was definitely a process but first, I was invited to participate..that is, President Obama allowed me an opportunity to shape and preserve my country and expanded the definition of patriotism to include me. That hadn't been the case previously. Second, after the cumulative damage of the previous administration, I had to contribute to a change-- enough was enough. Now, restoring the capacity of America is important to me, whether it's education or healthcare. So what's your story?
